Enhancing Research Excellence with ONOS: Exclusive Sage Workshop

On 25th November 2025, the Central Library of Tezpur University successfully conducted the workshop organised by SAGE titled “Enhancing Research Excellence with ONOS: Exclusive Sage Workshop”.


OVERVIEW

Ms Renu Raga, Customer Engagement Team from SAGE, extends her warm welcome to all the faculty members and research scholars for their participation, as well as to the library team for their support and collaboration.


PRESENTATION BY THE RESOURCE PERSON

Ms Renu Raga delivered an insightful overview of SAGE and its resources, including the SAGE Foundation Year, SAGE and Societies, Complementary Interdisciplinary Coverage, Collections and Resources, SAGE Journals Metrics, and more. She also highlights SAGE to be a part of One Nation One Subscription (ONOS), a Government of India initiative providing seamless access to world-class research, and around 1000+ peer-reviewed hybrid journals are currently being provided to Tezpur University and other institutions under this scheme.

Apart from the presentation, an interactive hands-on demonstration was given by Ms Renu Raga, assisted by Ms Shagun Goyal, Customer Engagement Team, Sage, on the SAGE journals platform and covered various functionality to support research activities, which are as follows: -

  • Create Profile: An individual profile which includes content email alerts, search alerts and saved searches.
  • Journal Information: A navigation to browse various journal-related information, such as –
    • Journal overview and metrics
    • Submission guidelines
    • Journal permissions
    • Subscribe
    • and more…
  • Keep up to date: A useful tool that allows an individual to subscribe with the latest table of contents and new published articles from selective journals.
  • Search Functionality:  A feature that allows searching within the collection and resources available on the Sage journals platform. It also features the ability to easily filter out the results according to the search criteria.
  • Metrics and citations: Useful for tracking the journal's metrics, the article’s altmetric score and total number of citations
  • Cite: A must-have tool that enables the reader to either copy or download the citation style in various modern formats, such as RIS (ProCite, Reference Manager), EndNote, BibTeX, Medlars, and RefWorks.

Q&A SESSION

Following the presentation, a Q&A session was conducted that covered clarity regarding the APC waiver for publishing journal articles. Additionally, Mr Anuj Kumar Singh, Information Scientist, also sought clarification on the APC guidelines, which are initiated under the One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) initiative.
